CHAMPAGNE
HENRI GIRAUD GRAND CRU : During the reigh of King Louis
XIII, in 1625, Francois Hémart settled in the village
of Aÿ and began to produce wine. The Hémart family
history is rooted in Aÿ and intertwined with the extraodinary
history of Champagne.
Although
tragically wounding the vines, the phylloxera did not destroy
the intimate relationship between the family and champagne.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Léon Giraud,
a soldier from the battle of Marne, responded to the challenge.
He married a young Hémart lady and reconstructed the
magnificent family vineyards with the aid of all the latest
techniques. Today, Claude Giraud, the 12th generation of the
Giraud-Hémart family, precides over the family destiny
and produces the HENRI GIRAUD CHAMPAGNE in AY. Until today,
the Henri Giraud champagne was reserved for only a limited
private clientele in France and Italy. The 12th generation
of the Giraud-Hémart family has just recently decided
to expand the distribution of this elite product.

Henri
Giraud is a champagne of the heart, gourmand, very pleasant
to drink, extremely harmonious and balanced, heading towards
plenitude. The warmness and roundness are the characteristics
of the 1990 harvest in Aÿ that had 190g of sugar per
liter.

CHATEAU
BELLE BRISE, POMEROL AC :
In 1991, Bruno de Coincy, the 20th generation of his family,
whose links to wines and spirits date back to 1290, took over
the Belle Brise property. Wine has been made at Belle Brise
since the 18th century, but untill 1991 Belle Brise was only
available to selected family friends. Ever since, Belle Brise
has conquered many real connoisseurs and is today considered
as the new pearl in Pomerol. As Hugh Johnson says, "
in Pomerol ´ Château are small family affaires
and subject to change as individuals come and go ".
To this even more the case for Belle Brise.
Château
Belle Brise of the following vintages is available :
1995 (75cl), 1996 (75cl), 1997 (75cl), 1998 (75cl).
